Swimarathon 2015

Who says cats hate water?!

More than £130,000 was raised for charity as 450 teams of swimmers took to the water for this year’s Swimarathon.

Jersey Cheshire Home were represented in the pool by not one but two teams, The Resident Cats made up of our residents Jackie, Oscar, Shaun and Rosemary & The Stray Cats, made up of friends of the Home (Steve, Phil, Simon, Jess aged 17, Jessica aged 12 and Marco aged 10).

Our Resident cats completed 27 laps between them which was an outstanding effort and thoroughly enjoyed by all of them, although there were certainly a few aching muscles the next day! The Stray Cats managed 54 laps between them and special thanks must go to the youngsters who certainly put the oldies to shame!

The efforts of Jersey Cheshire Home raised a combined total of £255 in aid of this year’s chosen charities for the disabled.

If you’d like to be part of our team next year and represent us in the pool or just come to cheer us on then we’d love to see you!
