DAMP dreary weather conditions did not deter the redoubtable members of St Ladies Golf Club getting out on the course to raise money for Jersey Cheshire Home recently.
A total of 19 woman teed off in the annual 18 hole Jersey Cheshire Home Salver competition which was played for the 12th time on Tuesday 21 February. Over the years the event has helped raise some much-needed funds.
This year the St Clement Ladies were joined out on the course by the Longueville Ladies , a group started by golf Professional Lee Elstone to introduce women to golf.
Despite the inclement weather some decent scores were posted but the one that really mattered was that of Lady Captain Joan Streets as she took the title this year for the first time.
She won the Salver narrowly with excellent performances from Kathy Lawrence and Jane McAviney.
Joan (pictured) said: ‘All of the ladies are delighted to support Jersey Cheshire Home and we look forward to next year. Anyone who wants to join our merry band of players would be most welcome.’
The Jersey Cheshire Home would like to thank the ladies for their continued support and efforts to raise funds.
