Celebrity chef John Torode hosts Kitchen Inferno ’15

MORE than £25,000 was raised for Jersey Cheshire Home at the end of November when two teams of amateur chefs battled it out in the kitchen.

Organised by Freedom Media, Kitchen Inferno 2015 took place at the Hotel de France and featured celebrity host John Torode, who presents TV’s Masterchef.
After serving 150 diners with a three-course fine-dining menu they had prepared from scratch, Team Blue, sponsored by First Names Group, were crowned the winners.
They had tied on points with Team Red, who were sponsored by Camerons, after being marked on their food by the diners so it was then down to the three head chefs who trained and supported the two teams – Patrice Bouffaut of Sumas, David Cameron of Liberation Group and Phani Kundeti of Saffrons at Hotel de France, to name the winner. All three voted for Team Blue.

Kitchen Inferno 2Both teams were tremendous, working tirelessly in the kitchen for 15 hours solid to produce superb quality food that was thoroughly enjoyed by all diners and still managing to appear at the end of the night with huge smiles on their faces!
It was a fantastic night, that was not only a great deal of fun but raised an immense amount of money through some very kind sponsors, plenty of wonderful raffle and auction prizes, a generous donation from John Torrode of the proceeds from the sales of his new book and the fundraising efforts of our brilliant contestants! All the money raised has been put towards the vital renovation of our Hydrotherapy Pool and we are immensely grateful to all.
