THE winner of the Jersey Cheshire Home car raffle was Yvonne Farrar – and she could not have been more pleased.
General manager David Lord broke the news to her by phone moments after the winning ticket 2133 was pulled out of the tombola at West’s Centre at 4 pm on Friday 6 April by Kevin Pamplin, who is standing for Deputy in St Saviour No 1 district.
A very happy Yvonne was so pleased she was in floods of tears of joy when speaking to the home’s fundraising manager Harry McRandle about the arrangements for getting the car from Jacksons CI.
It was also our Town collection day on Friday and the sun shone most of the day. People were very generous and we will announce the amount raised in due course.
There are many volunteers to thank for their help but special praise needs to go to David Agnes for helping to set up and take down the King Street site. Another big thank you to Chris Hennequin for manning the West’s Centre car raffle ticket stall all day and also to Rebecca Noke for a sterling effort.
