Hydrotherapy Centre

Visitors and residents of the Jersey Cheshire Home can take advantage of the facilities provided by this specialised Hydrotherapy Centre, comprising a specialist gym and Hydrotherapy pool.  The Centre has its own independent entrance, dressing and shower facilities and parking area.

The purpose built Hydrotherapy Pool offers a warm environment in which to exercise.  The Pool can be hired out to the public either to individuals or groups, subject to availability.  We also offer Pool Physiotherapy Sessions for those with a disability.  The Pool has a ramp and hoist for easy access.

The Gym ...

The specialist Gym has many pieces of equipment particularly suited for those who are in a wheel chair most of the time.  Individuals can arrange a free assessment with the on-site Physiotherapist to determine suitability and the most appropriate course of treatment.

The Motomed Bike ...

The Motomed Bike is a particular favourite as clients can use this Bike from a chair or wheelchair.  The Bike can pedal the legs either passively or the user can work actively.  The Bike also has an anti-spasm mode.

The Glider ...

The Glider is a standing aid.  The user can be hoisted onto the seat and then a handle pumps the chair up from a sitting to standing position.

The Dynamic Parapodium ...

The Dynamic Parapodium is an innovative piece of equipment that can allow a person who is paralysed (dependant on the level) to stand and in some cases walk.  The machine is activated using arm and trunk muscles.

The Jersey Cheshire Home also offer acupuncture, lifesaving courses and in-house splinting.

Please note the use of all physiotherapy devices is subject to assessment from the Senior Physiotherapist.  Not all of the equipment is suitable for all users.
